First week of summer!

We started our summer vacation with a trip to Oklahoma.  First we drove to Fargo to visit Grandma, Papa Roger, and Uncle Allen.  Olivia went with us which made it even more fun!  We stayed a weekend at their house.  The weather was really cool so we played outside without getting too hot!

On Sunday we went to Aunt Sheryl's house because Piper was able to attend their church VBS that week.  She loved it and said it was the favorite part of our trip.  I also could tell the Lord was working in her heart, helping her have a better understanding of some truths Mommy and Daddy have been working on with her.
The weather was much cooler than normal but it didn't stop the kids from swimming in the ice cold water every single day!  By Wednesday, Briggs started asking when we were going back to "Mama's house."  He will not call it Daddy's house or his house, but only Mama's house.  He is a home body!  Both kids really missed Daddy while we were away!  Even Piper's VBS teacher told me one day at pickup that she was really missing her daddy!
On the way home to "Mama's house" we stopped in Ardmore to pick up a bike that had outgrown a friend's little boy for Briggs.  He loves it!  He doesn't quite get the peddling thing but loves his new Cars bike!  While in Ardmore, Piper asked if we could see our old house.  So I obliged.  It still looks beautiful!
The week was a fun way to start our summer break!

Last Day of School!

June 5 was Piper's last day of Kindergarten!  I cannot believe we'll have a first grader in the fall!  She woke up kind of emotional and anxious the morning of her last day.  I finally figured out it was because she's worried about not having Mrs. Patton as her teacher again.  She loved her this year!  And she was nervous about how the last day of school was going to flow and I don't think she totally understands summer vacation just yet!  But she'll get it quickly I think!  She wore the shirt she made in art class so the kids could sign them that day but they ended up just signing each others yearbooks instead!

The picture below was of her right after she exited the building! We ate ice scream and swam after school to celebrate the fact that it is SUMMER!  Mommy is ready!

And for comparison sake...This is Piper on the first day of school!  She looks like a baby!

Kindergarten Graduation

Kindergarten graduation took place on Wednesday.  It was outside near the bridge by the school and it was HOT!!  Piper came out very serious.  Would not crack a smile when she saw us even.  Later she told me there were a lot of people and it made her nervous.  But once she stood up and sang a few songs with her class and said her name she seemed to relax a lot!  After receiving her diploma, she had a big smile on her face!

After the ceremony, all the kindergarten families ate picnic lunches on blankets outside.  We are proud of our little graduate!

Zoo Field Trip

The kindergarten class took their last field trip this week to the zoo.  And, thankfully I was able to chaperone!  Briggs stayed with Aunt Amy all day while I was with Piper.  We had a fun time with a group of girls from Piper's class!
