Daddy Daughter Date

Cheese!!  Piper has swim lessons on Tuesday/Thursday nights.  So, Michael takes her on Tuesdays and this past Tuesday he took her out afterwards to eat ice cream at Chick-Fil-A!  She was so excited when she came home!  Michael said she made a ton of friends in the play place.  Lately, she has had no problem going up to kids and being friendly.  When we first moved, I didn't know if she'd ever make friends again!  But, she has come a long way and I am so proud of her!!  She is a friendly, confident little miss!

Gobble, Gobble

Over Easter weekend Michael got together with some guy friends to hunt turkeys.  It sounds like they had a lot of fun and Michael was pretty excited he shot his first turkey!  I'm afraid I've got a possible hunter husband now.  Eek!

April is here!

April is always a busy month for us!  We have Michael's birthday, Piper's birthday and Easter all to look forward to each year!
Piper and Briggs looking over their new mini pillow pets from Grandpa & Grandma!  Can't you tell Piper is in love!!!
I finally broke down and took Briggs for a professional hair cut.  They had a cartoon playing for him and obviously this was a bonus for my TV addict because he didn't fuss, whine, cry, or move the entire time!  He's also sporting a pretty cool do now!

Piper is taking swim lessons during the month of April on Tuesday/Thursday evenings.  Michael takes her one night and I take her one night.  It gives us both a chance for one on one time with each kids!!  She loves it!!  So proud of my big girl!

Wrapping up the month of March!

During Spring break we got to meet up with Chandra and her girls at a play place in Yukon.  Briggs and Sophia were spending a little moment together on the chairs.  Sophia really likes Briggs but Briggs isn't too fond of her yet.  She is a little to loving for him and he just whines or lays down on the floor to play dead!  So Very Funny!!  She just wants to love on him though!
We also went to Grandma and Papa's house.  The cousins came too and Grandma baked cookies with them and let them decorate them just how they wanted too.  Just how much frosting can you squeeze on a cookie??

We went to the park once with the Laughlins.  Briggs and Renna shared a swing!
This picture makes me laugh!  The neighbor girl left her 3D movie glasses so we had some fun with them.  Doesn't Michael look like a hipster with the glasses and his 'Live United' shirt.  Looks like he's supporting Obama...just kidding!  Although, my friend Kari did say if he grew a real shaggy beard and held up a sign saying "We are the 99%" then he for sure would pass for an Obama supporter! I think he could pass as a pretty cool dude wearing these though!  Btw, it's a United Way shirt...
And so could Briggs!  Ha!!  He looks like the little old man on the movie Up!  Even though I haven't seen that movie!

Briggs loves to sit and look at books and pretend to read.  It is one of my favorite things.
I call this his and hers doll houses!  She has the princess one and he has the farm one!  A nice moment of quiet and peace between the two of them!

And, one more!  We may have a TV watching problem!  Look at him!!

Exotic Animals

An exotic animal company brought some of their animals for a little show and tell at Piper's school.  The long snake made Piper cry and crawl into my lap but the baby kangaroo melted her heart and all she wanted was to hold that cute little animal!  She got to pet it and she sat on a very large tortoise for 3 seconds, maybe!

Look very closely to the right of her shoulder and you can see the gray baby kangaroo's head!
And, this is Briggs having fun with a student instead of watching the animals!  He would not stop bothering him and laughing!  Oh, he just kept laughing and the poor kid kept asking him to stop!  Haha!  Such a pest!

Some of our March...

We have done a lot of breathing treatments and had a messy house the majority of the time!  Briggs recovered from RSV but we continued breathing treatments on and off through the month.  We changed pediatricians for various reasons and he was diagnosed with pre-asthma which was not surprising and she started us on singulair for the next 6 months to help keep his allergies under control and keep his lungs clear!

And, we dealt with HIVES!  Lots and lots of hives!  They lasted about 3 weeks.  Poor Briggs, he can't catch a break!
Blurry pics but these two love each other!  They went to the ice cream shoppe with me for a little date!
My budding chef in her adorable apron.  She helped me make cinnamon toast one morning!

And, Super Piper in her super hero costume for ballet!  I don't know why they chose a super hero theme since it is all girls but there you have it!  (We borrowed this as you can tell, it's a little small!)

Do I have a green thumb??

Sweet Michael worked hard and built me a raised bed garden!  Look at his cute little helper.  It is officially filled with dirt and seeds have been sown in that said dirt!  Hopefully, we see a few sprouts sometime soon!

Learning to ride...

Piper has had this hand-me-down bike for some time now, thanks to some friends of my sister.  Michael picked out a princess helmet for Piper and a bell, along with some training wheels and this was her first day out on the bike.  She is still trying to master the skill of bike riding.  It's been a little challenging for her but she's getting there with the help of her sweet and patient daddy!

Miss Skinny Legs!

Look how tall and skinny her cute legs are!!  She is going to be a tall one!
